Club BBQ - Saturday 18th July
We're holding a Club Summer BBQ for all the family
again this year on Saturday 18th July at the Home Guard, Tiddington.
More details here.
For those of you who've never been before the Home
Guard Club is on the playing fields so there's lots of room for games
and for parents to be able to sit out and enjoy some food and the odd
drink (Bar is open all day) and let the 'athletes' burn off some energy.
For the competitive parents (do we have any of
those?) you can try and beat the offspring at some of the games, no
sulking allowed.

Education and Training
You can download
here (pdf)
all the details for the West Midlands region education and training
opportunities in the forthcoming future. Please have a look at the
courses available and see if you are interested in any. I will
gladly advise any Sharks volunteer as to their next step on the aquatics
education ladder, or if you have any queries regarding any of the
information included then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Funding maybe available to reduce the course costs, from West Midlands
Swimming and CSW Sport, and the swimming club may also be able to offer
subsidies in return for your continued support.
I
would also like to point out that as a club we need to ensure that all
helpers have completed a CRB (criminal records bureau) check, and also
have attended a child protection workshop within the last three years.
I will endeavour to ensure everyone fulfils this requirement however it
would be good to hear from anyone who knows that they have yet to do so.
Whilst, also on that note I would add to the course list the following:
Stratford District Council are holding
Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop,
Wednesday 24th June 2009 at Stratford High School, evening workshop -
time TBA
This
workshop is being run at a considerably less cost per delegate than the
usual ones via the ASA, but it still qualifies under the
mandatory requirement, therefore all helpers are encouraged to attend
this workshop if at all possible should you need this as an initial
qualification or renewal. Please contact me should you wish to
book on any of the courses and hence I look forward to hearing from you
all, but in the meantime, on behalf of the membership I thank you all
for your very valued time.
