City
of Birmingham Open Meet
There have
been a number of inquiries as to whether we are doing the City of
Birmingham Open Meet over Easter.
Although we will not add this meet to the Calendar we will do a
club entry for anyone who wants to swim. We are swimming at
Nuneaton on the previous weekend so we will not guarantee a coach
poolside at this stage (swimmers and coaches sit in the gallery during
the meet). We will confirm
nearer the time who will have the coaches pass.
This meet is
a joint Level 2 & 3 meet so you can enter different events at both
levels, ie if you have L2 times for your best events and enter as L3 for
the other events you want to swim.
There are minimum times for the L3 as well as L2.
Full
details on the COB web site;
http://www.swimbirmingham.org.uk/open.php
Please
ensure you use the correct boxes for L2 or L3 and complete the form
fully. Cheques must be to
Stratford Sharks and individual entries
are £5 per event as it will be an electronic entry.
Entries must
be received by Friday 17th Feb in the club folder or handed
to me beforehand. Tom Tame

Junior League (Age on 8th Sept 2012)
All Junior League teams will be picked based on
PB’s for 25m (9 year olds) and 50m (10-12 years) sprints. 33.33m
times will be used if necessary but 25/50m times are critical not only
for the League but also for you to be able to enter galas.
Selection for some age groups will be very tight and a good 50m
freestyle time maybe be enough to grab a place.
The team for the first friendly at Nuneaton on
the 28th January will be selected immediately afterwards.

100 Club
We still have numbers available for our ‘100 Club’
which costs £ 1 per month. You could win a monthly prize of either
£ 25, £ 10 or £ 5 as well as helping the fundraising effort for the club.
So don't delay pay
your £12 and wait for the draw on the first Wednesday of each month. The
odds are better than the National Lottery, but even if you don't win you
are at least helping your club for only £ 1 per month!
Application
forms and conditions are available from the Downloads page on the web
site and can be returned to the Club Desk on Friday evenings or to
myself. Joanne
