A school of Stratford Sharks competed against quality swimmers from all over the midlands at Nuneaton & Bedworth Swimming Club’s 200m & 400m distance Meet last weekend. With a very high number of entries and long sessions the two days turned into an endurance event in more ways the one.

  Overall there were 19 PB’s and 6 club records, Josh Walker (11) grabbed one in the 400m freestyle and a whole host of PB’s in a very tough age group, while Joe Evans (13) gained 2 club records, one with an outstanding 200m freestyle and the other in the 400m freestyle. Megan Stanley (11) also had a great return from her seven swims with 3 club records in the 200m & 400m medleys and 200m backstroke, numerous PB’s and the two highest placings (3rd & 4th) from all the Sharks.

  Claire Bassinder (17) was fifth in the 200m medley and tenth in the 200m freestyle, Frances Goss (12) got tenth in the 200 medley, Lucy Tame (10) was eight in the 200m backstroke and Becky Tame (12) was sixth in the 200m breaststroke. Not to be outdone Faye Tilstone (10) had a cracking race in her first ever competitive 200m backstroke and then again in her 200m breaststroke.
