The final league meeting of the Diddy league took place at Halesowen swimming pool. A large team travelled by coach and with the team at full strength the mood was positive

  It was a sad farewell to one of the Sharks, Jonathan Witchard as he is off to pastures new; thankfully he delayed his trip so he could compete in the gala and what a wise move it proved to be gaining first places in both the 11yrs Butterfly and Freestyle events. Other Sharks gaining first place included a nail biting finish by Frances Goss to win the 12yrs freestyle and a dominant display by Matthew Newman in the 10 yrs Fly. Newman was joined by his fellow team mates Ed Caswell, Andrew Morley & Sandy Forysiak to win the 10 yrs Freestyle relay in some style. The only winning relay team of the night!

  The same quartet followed up their victory with a fine second place in the Medley relay. This feat was emulated by the 11yr old Boys, Witchard, Chris Cardwell, Tom Green & George Purchon combining to win the Medley relay. Daniel Siviter replaced Witchard to help the team gain another second place this time in the Freestyle relay. The only individual second place on the night was by 10 yr old Andrew Morley with a superb two lengths of Backstroke.

  Individual third places were gained by Megan Stanley coming back from a serious ankle injury, Lucy Castle, Josh Martindale, Harriet Green, Matt Newman again, Bryonie Owen, Lucy Tame and Chris Cardwell. More success for the relay teams with the 9yr old Girls Freestyle Owen, Green Elizabeth Walters and Molly Wright gaining a fine third place. The 12 yr old girls provided inspiration for the younger swimmers with two third places in both the Medley and Freestyle teams Stanley, Kara Malins, Goss and Sophie Castle with Caroline Ankrett replacing Malins in the freestyle relay.

  The Sharks team then showed their strength in the boys 8 x 1 Freestyle team Martindale, Alex Bowen, Caswell, Newman, Siviter, Purchon, Humphreys & Josh Walker with another great third place. The girls then joined in on the act to form the 8 X 1 mixed Freestyle relay this team comprising of Owen, Martindale, Castle, Caswell, Gwennan Williams, Witchard, Goss & Walker.

  After a nail biting wait final results were announced and the Sharks were delighted to find themselves in a fantastic third position only 6 points behind the second place team. Roll on 2008!!
