Stratford Sharks ASC

 Ron Walker Trophy Gala - Nuneaton

  Stratford Sharks were invited to compete in the annual Ron Walker Trophy Gala hosted by Nuneaton and Bedworth Swimming Club. This event was a stern test for the Shark’s junior team with some high calibre teams being invited to join them. Only five first places were recorded on the night, super swims were recorded by Kathryn Lythgo in the 9yrs 25m Freestyle, Annie Cox 9yrs 25m Breastroke, Lucy Castle 11yrs 50m Backstroke, Molly Wright 25m Backstroke and Edward Caswell 50m Freestyle


  Second places were gained by Sandy Forysiak, Matt Newman, Josh Martindale and Ellen Price. The 9yr girls relay team consisting of Ysabelle Caswell, Annie Cox, Chloe Hale and Elinor Bird swam brilliantly to achieve the highest place relay finish by the Sharks team.


  Third places in the relays were achieved by the 9yr Boys Chris Clements, Jonathan Furey, Gregor Kelling and Alex Bowen. The 10yr and 11yr Girls and Boys relay teams also took fine third places swimmers involved in these events were Price, Castle, Eleri Williams, Sophie Reynolds, Caswell, Forysiak, Reiss Hemming, Newman, Ailsa Gavan-McHarg, Annie Wright, Molly Wright, Lythgo, Matindale, Bowen, Clements and Kelling. Not to be out done the 12yr girls also grabbed third place with fine swims from Lucy Tame, Sophie Warden, Ellen Price and Lucy Castle. Individually third places were achieved by Chloe Hale, Williams, Tame and Andrew Morley.


  The final event 10 by 25m cannon relay saw the roof lifted and many parents with sore throats after the event the sharks had to settle for a fine third place involved in this grand finale was Bird, Clements, Wright, Martindale, Castle, Caswell, Tame, Andrew Morley, Kara Malins and Josh Walker.


  Once the final points were totalled the Sharks team finished an extremely creditable third place behind Nuneaton Blue and Gloucester City and above local rivals Kingsbury Aquarius, Redditch, Haden Hill Bromsgrove and Nuneaton Red.
