Stratford Sharks started their Nuneaton Junior League season on Saturday night at Nuneaton. With eleven swimmers absent for the Easter holidays they managed a very creditable 5th place amid stiff competition from the other teams and set 21 PB’s on the night. There were two 1st places on the night, the 11yr girls Medley Relay team of Imogen Cork, Leigh Buckland, Katie Cardwell & Emma Bysouth who also took 2nd in the Freestyle Relay and the 10yr Boys Medley Relay team of Ben Lane, Josh Allen, Aaron Brough & Matt Williams. There were individual second places for Lane in the Backstroke, Brough in the 10yr Butterfly and Bysouth in the 11yr Freestyle.

  The 10yr girl team of Georgina Mackey, Becky Tame, Lauren Blakemore & Frances Goss also took second place in their Medley & Freestyle Relays. There were notable 3rd places for Harry Frankland 10yr Breaststroke, Chris Jolly 11yr Butterfly, Chris Cardwell 9yr Freestyle, Blakemore 10yr Butterfly and Tom James 9yr Backstroke. A mention must also go to 10yr old Lydia Ratclif who swam up for the 12yr olds in 2 Relays and had the fastest splits in all 4 of her Relay swims, setting a PB in her individual 50m Freestyle. All in all a baptism of fire for the 9 year olds in the team who all swam superbly in their first major league gala.
