Stratford Sharks made the final of the Mercian League this year with strong positions in the two qualifying galas. The timing of the final left the squad rather depleted with almost half of the regular team on school trips and other sporting events across Warwickshire.

  The swimmers as usual gave 100% with the majority of the regular swimmers swimming up in age groups. Imogen Cork produced the only 1st on the night in the 10yrs 50m Backstroke & 2nd in the 50m Breastroke with Fran Cassidy-Morris who swam up to take 2nd in the 14yrs & 3rd in the Open 100m Breaststroke.

  The Butterfly swimmers had a good evening with 5 swimmers finishing in the 1st three, Helen Livesey finished a close 2nd in the 100m Open with Caroline Cardwell in the 100m 14yrs & Tom Lane 12yrs 50m also finishing fast to take 2nd in the Fly, Louisa Heyworth and Lily Russell-Wilks both got 3rd place in their respective age groups.

  In the Freestyle event Lydia Ratcliff was 3rd in the 10yrs 50m and Tom Pilling also took 3rd in a personal best time in the 14yrs 100m, several other swimmers also went on to get p.b's including Katie Carwell, Ben Brough, Matt Williams, Luke Betteridge, Georgie Walters, Katie Pavel & Elliot Smith.

  In the relays well done to Imogen Cork, Kate Burley, Frances Goss & Lily Russell-Wilks in the 10yrs Free & Medley relays and Charli Cassidy-Morris, Fran Cassidy-Morris, Caroline Cardwell & Alice Walters 14yrs Medley which took 3rd place.

  It was a tough evening of competition with Stratford lifting the trophy for 6th place overall in the League well done to everyone who competed in the 3 rounds of the Mercian League.
