Team Manager

Team managers help out at open meets and galas sorting kids into their races and dealing with any issues poolside.
Before you become a team manager you need :-

All costs for courses is covered through the club and you are provided with team manager kit. You will get free entry to galas and are often provided with lunch/refreshments for helping out.

Officials

At all galas we are required to provide a number of officials as part of the entry criteria, most competitions require around 16-10 officials per session and it is a rewarding job and helps to pass the time at open meets, you can also watch your swimmers compete from poolside.
Before you are allowed to officiate you are required to obtain:-

  • Swim England registration (contact membership)
  • Officials course, most people start with timekeeping and then move onto Judge 1
  • to complete the Judge 1 your are required to complete around 12 hours poolside (4-5 galas) 

You will be provided with officials kit (stopwatch, clipboard and white top). 

Gala Helpers

At a lot of galas there are other jobs which need filling, these are more casual jobs and do not require specific training.

  • Results running
  • Stewards/Marshalls
  • Refreshments
  • Door Entry (taking payments)
